I’m planning to purchase my first scuba cylinder and would like to understand the differences between steel and aluminum scuba tanks. I’ve heard that steel tanks offer better buoyancy characteristics, while aluminum tanks are more commonly available. For recreational diving, which option provides better durability, maintenance, and overall value? I’d appreciate hearing from experienced divers who have used both types of tanks. Your recommendations and real-world experiences would really help me make an informed decision.
