truair fare
ParticipantI wanted to share a quick win for anyone currently booking travel within the States. I’ve noticed that if you’re booking a domestic flight under the 14-day window, the prices on all the big search engines seem to hit the exact same “peak” price at the same time. It’s like the algorithms just lock you into a high rate because they know you’re in a hurry.
I’ve had much better luck lately skipping the automated apps and checking this cheap domestic flight consolidator.
It’s a bit different because it’s an “old-school” call-to-book setup, but that’s actually why it works. I talked to an agent who was able to find a private fare for a last-minute flight that was way lower than the public “standard” rate shown everywhere else. These smaller agencies often have access to ticket blocks that don’t fluctuate with the daily price spikes you see on the big sites.
If you’re looking at a US route and the price looks like a glitch, it’s worth trying the human route. Sometimes talking to someone who can see the internal inventory is the only way to bypass the “big tech” markups.
