I had a bit of a scare this morning. I was cross-referencing our staff against the Exclusions list OIG and found a name that wasn’t there last month. It’s a stressful reminder that the list changes constantly. If we hadn’t caught it, the fines could have been astronomical. For those of you in smaller practices, how often are you checking the list? I’m starting to think that a monthly check is the only way to stay truly safe from penalties.
