Medical PG in India or NEXT During MBBS studies, students come to realize the significance of specializing in a particular field. They also understand the competitiveness involved in securing an MD/MS seat in a government college. Analyzing the success ratio for obtaining a postgraduate (PG) seat in a government medical college, which stands at 11%, indicates that only 1 out of 10 students will secure a PG seat. Moreover, the odds of obtaining a clinical specialty are even more stringent, with only 1 out of 20 applicants succeeding. The journey toward PG specialization can be exceptionally challenging, necessitating substantial financial resources for those opting for a paid seat in a private medical college, which may cost in crores!

Medical PG in the USA (USMLE):
Recognizing the challenges associated with securing a postgraduate (PG) position in India, many students are increasingly drawn to preparing for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) from the first year of their MBBS studies. This inclination is driven by the fact that USMLE preparation aligns more seamlessly with the new NMC Competency-based curriculum, especially in light of the introduction of NEXT in India.
