Hi everyone,
I’m Lisa Brown, a BIM Engineer working with HVAC coordination projects for the past few years. I wanted to start a discussion on how clash detection is changing the way we plan and install HVAC systems.
From my experience, clash detection helps a lot by spotting issues between HVAC ducts, pipes, and other systems like structural beams or electrical lines before construction even begins. It prevents unexpected surprises on-site and avoids costly rework.
With BIM tools, we can detect hard clashes (like two elements occupying the same space) and soft clashes (like access clearance issues). This improves overall coordination, saves time, and makes the installation process much smoother.
It’s especially helpful in large commercial or hospital projects where space is tight and precision is everything.
Has anyone here used clash detection in your HVAC BIM Services projects? Did it save you from any major issues?
I’d love to hear your thoughts or feedback on this!
Thanks,
Lisa Brown
