    Hi everyone,

I recently had YAG laser capsulotomy to treat cloudiness after cataract surgery, and I’m curious about the possibility of needing it again in the future.

Has anyone here had YAG laser done twice?
What were the reasons for the second procedure?
Did you notice any differences in results or recovery?

I’d love to hear about your experiences or any information you might have on this topic. Thanks!

    Hi there!

Yes, it is possible to have YAG laser capsulotomy done more than once, although it’s relatively uncommon. Some people may experience cloudiness again due to factors like leftover lens material or changes in the capsule. So, can YAG laser be done twice? The answer is yes!

I’ve had YAG laser done twice myself. The first time was to clear up significant cloudiness, and then a few years later, I noticed it was becoming cloudy again. My eye doctor explained that it can happen, especially if the capsule doesn’t heal perfectly after the first procedure.

In terms of recovery, both times were quite similar for me—minimal discomfort and quick improvement in vision afterward. I didn’t notice any major differences between the two sessions, which was a relief!

It’s always best to discuss any concerns with your eye doctor. They can provide guidance based on your specific situation. Hope this helps!
