Table Of Contents

The rapid advancement of healthcare technology in 2025 has positioned Epic Showroom as an essential platform for healthcare organizations that need to optimize their electronic health record (EHR) systems. Epic Systems created Showroom, which functions as an online marketplace that connects providers to third-party Epic Showroom products and services to integrate with Epic’s EHR system.

This blog demonstrates how Showroom transforms healthcare organizations by increasing efficiency and innovation while improving patient care, which proves its essential value to healthcare leaders and decision-makers in MedTech firms.

Understanding Epic Showroom

Showroom is a unified platform that took over Epic’s old App Orchard to provide healthcare organizations with a methodical and user-friendly approach to finding digital tools that work with Epic’s EHR system.

The platform divides its offerings into multiple programs, including Cornerstone Partners (e.g., Microsoft, InterSystems), Pals, Partners, and Member Services—designed for different integration and collaboration levels. The platform connects healthcare providers with vendors so organizations can enhance their EHR platforms using solutions tailored to meet clinical, operational, or patient-facing requirements.

Innovations of Epic App Showroom in 2025

Showroom app creates a significant impact through its demonstration of advanced technologies, which meet current healthcare organization requirements. Let’s explore some of the key announcements and insights shared during the 2025 HIMSS Global Health Conference and Exhibition, where Epic unveiled major advancements that are accessible through Epic app showroom.

Generative AI

Epic’s 2025 innovations are founded on generative AI, which delivers tools to enhance clinician workflows and patient experiences while streamlining revenue cycle processes. The AI agents operate independently to execute tasks by utilizing enterprise-wide data to generate actionable insights.

For example, ambient voice recognition is being used for note-writing workflows, with plans to incorporate multimodal capabilities (video, voice, images, and genomic data) in the near future.

Genomic Insights

The Cosmos data warehouse from Epic now contains genomic sequencing data, which drives advancements in precision medicine research. The Cosnome feature merges genomic sequencing data into the Cosmos dataset through Showroom access so healthcare organizations can create genetic information-based personalized treatment plans that advance patient-centered care.

Interoperability

Epic’s FHIR API monthly calls demonstrate strong growth by reaching 10 billion in 2025 from an initial 6 billion. Since their introduction in 2024, USCDI v3 APIs have been accessed over 8 billion times through open.epic’s free platform.

Thanks to Epic’s support for TEFCA, data exchange capabilities have expanded as more than 2,000 hospitals and 50,000 clinics are either live or getting ready to launch. The Showroom platform has enabled seamless collaboration across healthcare ecosystems through these advancements.

Epic Showroom Apps

Showroom maintains a broad ecosystem of solutions with a total of 790 apps, including over 200 new additions from last year. The applications encompass patient-facing tools along with clinical decision support systems and operational improvements, which integrate directly into Epic’s electronic health record system. Through Health Grid, the platform connects providers to payers, specialty labs, and telehealth services, which helps reduce administrative work and enhances care coordination.

Individual Access Services (IAS)

Nearly 800 patient-facing apps are now live through IAS, allowing patients to securely share their health data with third-party applications using their Epic login credentials. This empowers patients to connect with tools like health coaching or medication reminders, making it easier for them to take part in their own care.

Organ Donor in MyChart

Through their collaboration with Donate Life America, Epic’s MyChart platform will soon enable patients to enroll as donors of organs, eyes, and tissues through their personal accounts. The functionality strives to improve the accessibility and security of the registration process.

The new initiative stands to boost donor registrations because more than 100,000 Americans are currently on the waiting list for life-saving organ transplants. A single donor can save eight lives while improving others through tissue donations, making this an essential measure to combat organ shortages.

ERP & Clinical Trials Management System

The Clinical Trials Management System aims to unify trial workflows for patients, clinicians, researchers, and administrators, streamlining research processes and accelerating medical advancements.

An ERP suite is also under way. The native integration of Epic ERP will improve operational efficiency & enable superior decision-making through a unified dashboard that delivers financial, operational, and clinical insights.
