  • Before a date

This is similar to the ‘after a date’ filter. To search a mail that you received before a certain date, go to the search bar and type before:YYYY/MM/DD 

  • Between two dates

The above two techniques were quite similar, let’s tell you about a different gmail search date range. This method is for searching mails received between two specific dates. For this, you have to combine before and after filters and type- after:YYYY/MM/DD and before: YYYY/MM/DD.

Eg- to search a mail between 4th April 2024 and 6th April 2024, then type after:2024/04/04 before:2024/04/06

  • Older than

Searching for an email received before a particular time period type, older_than, then add a colon and type any letter. Type d for day, m for month and y for year. Eg – older_than:4m

  • Newer than

This is similar to the ‘older than’ filter. All you have to do is type newer_than instead of older_than and the rest is the same as the above method.

  • Sender with dates

This is a pretty simple way to find a specific Email. Type from, add a colon and type the email ID of the person who has sent you that Email. Eg – from:[email protected]
