Here’s a sample 21-day itinerary that shows what to expect.

Day 1: Flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, Drive to Taplejung

Long travel day to reach the starting point.

Day 2: Taplejung to Chirwa (1,270m)

Trek through small villages and cardamom farms.

Day 3: Chirwa to Lelep (1,860m)

Enter the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area. Check permits here.

Day 4: Lelep to Amjilosa (2,510m)

Walk through forests and cross suspension bridges.

 5: Amjilosa to Gyabla (2,730m)

Climb higher into cooler areas with fewer people.

 Day 6: Gyabla to Ghunsa (3,595m)

Big Tibetan village. First views of big peaks!

Day 7: Acclimatization Day at Ghunsa

Rest day to help your body adjust to high altitude. Short hikes possible.

Day 8: Ghunsa to Khambachen (4,050m)

Closer to the snowline. Amazing views of Jannu Peak.

Day 9: Khambachen to Lhonak (4,780m)

Trail gets tougher. Few trees now—just rocks and glaciers.

Return the same way.

Day 12: Ghunsa to Selele La Camp (4,290m)

Begin crossing over to the south side. Sleep near the pass.

 Day 13: Selele La to Tseram (3,870m) via Sele La Pass (4,290m)

Cross the snowy Sele La Pass. Beautiful mountain views.

 Day 14: Tseram to Ramche (4,580m) – Visit South Base Camp

Another big day. South face of Mt Kanchenjunga is stunning.

Day 15: Ramche to Torongding (2,995m)

Back down into forests and warmer air.

Day 16: Torongding to Yamphuding (2,080m)

Long downhill walk. Back to village life.

 Day 17: Yamphuding to Khebang (1,910m)

Still remote, but more fields and farms.

Day 18–19: Trek to Taplejung

Final stretch of the trek.

 Day 20: Drive to Bhadrapur

Return journey begins.

Day 21: Flight to Kathmandu
