BS-type fuses will have multiple benefits vs circuit breakers as a choice in certain applications. One key benefit consists of their simplicity and reliability; even without power, a fuse has no moving parts and, thus, cannot fail mechanically. Fuses have a faster response to overcurrents; this is important to protect sensitive equipment as much as possible. Since BS types of fuses are cost-effective and cheaper overall than circuit breakers when outfitting high-current installations, they are often the approach of choice. BS type fuses have a very high breaking capacity, therefore, they will protect installations in fault conditions. In addition, BS fuses are compact, relatively inexpensive, and easy to install in tight spots.
